Technical and professional education bill: the Senate gives the green light to the 4+2 model

(Finance) – The Senate approved the government bill at first reading reform of technical-professional education with the introduction of new 4+2 model.

“Today’s green light marks a fundamental stage in a reform that serves our young people and the country”, declared the Minister of Education and Merit Giuseppe Valditaraadding “I thank the President of the Education Commission, Roberto Marti, the rapporteur, Ella Bucalo, the Undersecretary Paola Frassinetti and the entire parliamentary majority for having supported the bill, making certainly improving additions. I also thank the Regions for their important contribution given”.

“It’s about a long awaited reform from schools and from the productive world and in which this government strongly believes – continues the Minister – We will have a supply chain A-level technical and professional trainingwhich will be able to count on the strengthening of basic disciplines and the increase in laboratory and professional ones, on greater connection between school and businessbut also on the major one internationalization and research“.

“It’s not a question – said Valditara – of reducing high school programs by a year but of having programs reviewed and strengthened over 4 yearskeeping the number of teachers unchanged and therefore having more teachers per class. Our goal is for young people to have the appropriate preparation for find a job more quickly qualified and that companies have the professionalism necessary to be competitive”.
