British tech entrepreneur and billionaire Mike Lynch has been found dead on the luxury yacht that had an accident and sank off Sicily on Monday, Italian news agency Ansa reports.
Remains of a total of five people have been recovered from the wreck on the bottom of the Mediterranean Sea. One person, Lynch’s 18-year-old daughter, is still missing.
The Italian rescue service confirmed on Wednesday that five bodies had been found at the wreckage and brought to the surface, but did not then announce which people it was about.
The sailboat, a 50-meter-plus luxury yacht named Bayesian, was anchored about 700 meters from a harbor when sudden gale-force winds hit it, early Monday morning.
15 people, including a one-year-old child, could be rescued from the water after the accident.
