A substitute teacher is convicted of minor assault after grabbing a student by the neck. It happened in a math lesson in Alvesta last fall. The Smålandsposten writes that the teacher was previously acquitted by the District Court in Växjö, but has now been convicted in the Court of Appeal.
The teacher told the police questioning that it was a messy lesson and that in the end it “broke for him”. He grabbed a student around the neck and sent him out of the classroom. The student suffered several lacerations that the school nurse had to bandage.
The teacher lost his job after the incident and against that background, the Göta Court of Appeal determines the daily fine amount to a total of SEK 3,000.
