In June 2022, the woman tried to strangle her care provider with a shoelace. She was then in crisis shelter in Utrecht, but that was not the first time she had been in crisis shelter. Prior to the incident, she had already been in a mental health institution several times. She is said to suffer from borderline personality disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder.
