Taylor Swift mocks Donald Trump with photo dedicated to him

With this photo with her cat posted on Instagram and an unequivocal message, pop star Taylor Swift openly mocks Donald Trump and his running mate, JD Vence.

This Wednesday, September 11, the day after the debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, the two candidates for the White House, Taylor Swift posted a message of support for Kamala Harris on her Instagram account. “I’m voting for Kamala Harris because she fights for rights and causes that I believe need a warrior to defend. I think she’s a stable and gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos,” wrote the pop star. A post that has already totaled more than 5.5 million “likes” in four hours.

With a good dose of humor, Taylor Swift signed her message “Childless Cat Lady”, understand: old cat lady, with a photo of herself and her pet. A reference to a controversial and misogynistic statement by the running mate of Donald Trumpin a video dating from 2021 which, itself, was not imbued with humor.

In this video published three years ago, JD Vence, now Donald Trump’s running mate and an ultra conservative, accused the Democrats in power of being a bunch of “unhappy cat women” who “want to make the rest of the country unhappy too”. And this video in which JD Vence targets childless women has just resurfaced last July. This expression of “cat lady” aims to discredit women who choose to live without children, surrounded by cats. Bad luck for Donald Trump’s running mate, Kamala Harris, whom he clearly targets along with all the Democrats via his comments in the 2021 video, is raising her two beautiful children with her partner.

That’s why, this Wednesday, Taylor Swift did not fail to be ironic about this video that resurfaced three years later and that many had forgotten existed. With this post on Instagram, in which the pop star appears with her white cat that she holds in her arms, she openly mocks the Republican camp, obviously the presidential candidate Donald Trump, and finally his running mate, JD Vence.

The singer also warned about the excesses of AI:“I was recently made aware that an AI of ‘me’ falsely endorsing Donald Trump’s presidential candidacy was posted on his website. This really raised my concerns about AI and the dangers of spreading misinformation. It led me to the conclusion that I need to be very transparent about my real plans for this election as a voter. The easiest way to combat misinformation is to tell the truth,” she continued, still on her Instagram post.

“As a voter, I make sure to look and read everything I can about policies and programs for the country (…) I’ve done my research and I’ve made my choice,” she says. She will vote for Kamala Harris next November. On the other hand, Taylor Swift has not explicitly called on her fans, the “Swifties”, to vote for the Democratic candidate. According to her, everyone must “fdo your own research on the issues and positions of these candidates on the subjects that matter to you.” In short, his fans are invited to make their choice in their soul and awareness.
