(Finance) – “The agenda for the extension of the deadline for payments from 31 July to 21 August, signed by MPs Gusmeroli, Cavandoli, Bagnai and Centemero, is a step forward because it commits the government to dealing with an issue which no longer seems to be on the urgent table, but which instead concerns hundreds of thousands of businesses and citizens, a measure that would also represent an important step towards greater simplification for operators in the sector”. Marco Cuchel, president of Anc (National Association of Accountants).

Cuchel points out that the initiative on the Agenda comes at a crucial moment“considering the late publication in the Official Journal of the ISA corrections, the gigantic circulars issued by the AdE close to the deadline, the still ongoing disruptions on the telematic channels. The Government’s attention to this agenda is dutiful: we understand the cash needs and we are aware that the country’s financial stability is a priority but, at this point, also the forecast of the 4.5 billion that the Accounting Office estimated at the time as necessary coverage in the event of an extension needs to be reviewed, in the light of the fact that part of the payments was carried out on 30/06 and a part will be performed on 20/07, and therefore the audience of subjects who will benefit from the hoped-for postponement to 21/08 will have been consistently reduced”.

Therefore, Cuchel hopes that the Parliament, “in its regulatory review activity, take this issue into consideration and adopt measures that allow for greater flexibility in the deadlines for payments. It would be a gesture of great awareness and closeness to taxpayers and to a category that, despite great difficulty, works continuously at the service of this country”.
As a trade union, concludes Cuchel, “our satisfaction is above all that of telling our colleagues, who daily in this chaotic period urge us to intervene on deadlines, that our uninterrupted supervision of the institutions, which takes the form of dense and uninterrupted conversations with decision-makers , that their voice has not gone unheard”.
