The collision occurred in June last year. The incident was caught on surveillance cameras where the taxi driver is seen driving on the woman, stopping temporarily, and then driving on.
In interrogation, the man has said he was honking at the woman, who did not react. After the collision, he stopped but interpreted it as not injured. He then drove on because he had a waiting customer and was stressed.
Cabonline’s new message: “Completed our collaboration”
When SVT previously reported on the incident, Cabonline, the company that owns Taxikurir that the man is driving, said that they did not know the verdict. The driver was temporarily suspended while investigating the incident. Following SVT’s reporting, and the incident has attracted a lot of attention, the company now announces that they are terminating the cooperation with the taxi driver.
The fact that they did not know the judgment is because the Swedish Transport Agency has not yet decided whether or not to withdraw the driver’s taxi identification. When the Swedish Transport Agency makes a decision to withdraw credentials for drivers, it is flagged in the tool for eligibility control of professional traffic. Only then will it be visible to the taxi company.
– Regardless of that, we have now chosen to end our collaboration with the driver, says Linda Fritzner, press spokesperson at Cabonline.
