(Finance) – ‘Taxpayers alert! L’Revenue Agency unearths the hatchet declaring de facto the end of the “Fiscal Peace” with a real carpet bombing. It is, in fact, sending thousands of notices to citizens regarding the 2020 tax year. Over 100,000 letters are currently being “delivered” but the data is continuously updated. These compliance letters examine income from subordinate work, similar income, income from self-employment and income from rental contracts”. It’s the alarm raised by Federtaxpayers which, the President recalls Marco Paccagnella ”whoever received one of these letters may have committed anomalies in their tax return”.
Here then, reports Federcontribuenti, what you need to know: ”The compliance letters highlight the discrepancies between the data declared by taxpayers and those available in the Revenue Agency databases. If – specifies the association of taxpayers and consumers – one of these communications has been received, users will be invited to regularize the position through the so-called active repentance (art. 13 of the administrative sanction provisions for violation of tax regulations)” .
About the dispute and the documentation ”even if these communications cannot be committed before the judge, you still have the possibility of contesting the charges by presenting observations, as we are doing, or deductions, preferably accompanied by supporting documentation”. Furthermore, for some taxpayers ”there is the possibility of regularizing their position through a pre-compiled supplementary declaration”.
“Let us remember – Paccagnella points out – that the intent of the Revenue Agency is to encourage correct compliance with the norms tax but if one of these letters has been received, taxpayers must carefully evaluate the situation and act accordingly without neglecting the required formalities. But all this is truly absurd – concludes the president of Federcontribuenti – this is why we are loudly asking for a grave amnesty which is the only instrument that can bring peace and tranquility to families and businesses”.
