Tax, Senate final approval of bill for extension of adoption of consolidated texts

Superbonus decree proposed amendment to involve municipalities in controls

(Finance) – With 91 votes in favour, 51 against and five abstentions, the Senate has definitively approved the bill extending the deadline for the adoption of consolidated tax laws to 31 December 2025. The previous deadline was set within one year of the entry into force of the tax reform delegation law, which occurred on August 29, 2023.

“This government, in a year and a half, has made great strides to finally implement a real tax reform. The request for an extension until December 2025 of the deadline for adopting the legislative decrees for the organic reorganization of the provisions for the tax system through the drafting of consolidated texts, is largely justified by the titanic work that the government must do to reconnoitre thousands of rules that have accumulated over the years – said in the Chamber of Palazzo Madama the Senator of Forza Italia, Dario Damiani, speaking in a declaration of vote on the bill to extend the delegation for the reorganisation of the tax system –. After the issuing of the 9 consolidated texts, – he explained – they will be approximately 750 tax regulations abolished, with a huge advantage in terms of simplification for all taxpayers, thanks to a reform that is the identity battle of our party. There is therefore no delay: the consolidated texts have already been published and can be consulted on the website of the Revenue Agency”.

“This – he continued Damian – means that important proposals for improvement are arriving from the interested parties. Furthermore, 11 decrees have already been issued to implement the tax reform, based on a collaborative relationship between the taxpayer and the State. And in this sense, Forza Italia has achieved a great result with the abolition of an inquisitorial, vexatious and obsolete instrument such as the income tax return, in favour of virtuous models such as the preventive settlement agreement. In recent years, we have also recovered 25 billion from tax evasion, thanks to an economic policy that has favoured sustained growth, with an increase in jobs. In this way, we are laying the foundations for the next important budget law. Forza Italia expresses its vote in favour of this measure with the awareness that the government is on the right path to launch a real tax reform”.
