(Finance) – In Italy the number of taxpayers in 2022 it was approx 42 million1.3% more than in 2021. The income the overall total declared amounts to over 970.2 billion euros (58 billion more than the previous year, +6.3%) for a average value of 23,650 euros. These are some of the numbers published by Ministry of Economy and Finance in the “Tax statistics” section dedicated to IRPEF and VAT returns submitted in the 2022 tax year.
L’territorial analysis confirms that the region with the highest overall average income is Lombardy (27,890 euros), while the Calabria has the lowest average income (17,160 euros). The rearnings from employment and pensions they represent approximately 83% of the total declared income; the highest average income is that from self-employment, equal to 64,670 euros, the average income declared by employees is equal to 22,280 euros, that of pensioners is 19,750 euros.
The average values of all are increasing types of income: business income in ordinary accounting (+19.6%) and in simplified accounting (+12.5%); income from participation (+11.6%); income from self-employment (+6.9%); pension income (+4%) and employee income (+3.6%).
L‘net tax total declared amounts to 174.2 billion euros, (+1.9% compared to the previous year), is equal to 5,380 euros on average and is declared by almost 32.4 million subjects, equal to approximately 77% of the total taxpayers. L’regional additional income tax it amounts to 13.9 billion euros in 2022 (+8.4% compared to 2021). The average regional surcharge is 450 euros. The municipal surcharge, however, amounts overall to over 5.8 billion euros, an increase of 8.8% compared to 2021, with an average amount of 213 euros.
As regards the section dedicated toVAT instead they are approximately 4.2 million taxpayers who submitted the declaration. The turnover declared reached 4,870 billion euros (+25.5% compared to 2021). It is worth highlighting the change in the business division “Supply of electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning” whose turnover grows by 118.7% compared to 2021. The amount of tax due in 2022 is 143.6 billion euros (+9.6% compared to 2021), the tax credit instead is equal to 50.7 billion euros (+25.2% compared to 2021).
