Negotiations between Russia and the United States are currently underway at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel in Riyadh, says TASS.
The negotiations started at nine o’clock Finnish time. Negotiations take place behind closed doors and no schedule has been reported.
According to the US administration, Monday’s negotiations are aiming to achieve a ceasefire on sea areas.
The ceasefire would allow the free access of maritime traffic in the Black Sea.
US delegation lead Andrew peek from the national security council and Michael Anton from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Russia is represented, among other things, by the Security Service former FSB Intelligence Manager Sergei Beseda and a member of Duma Grigori karas.
Representatives of Ukraine are also present in Riyadh. They do not participate in this discussion.
The Ukrainians will have discussions with US representatives later today.
The United States and Ukraine also negotiated the ceasefire yesterday in Saudi Arabia.
Ukrainian Defense Rustem umjerov described the negotiations as lucrative. The United States has not commented on negotiations with Ukraine.
