The huge tax hit

In the quest to end up on “The white guide”, Tareq Taylor went all in. At the time he had a small restaurant that served both lunch and dinner. To be the best, he needed to bet everything on the dinner menu with the best ingredients. He quickly realized that he also needed to change premises in order to succeed in reaching his goal.

He found a new premises but it needed cleaning. It was a lot of work but it succeeds, unfortunately it meant a lot of financial pressure going forward.

– During this period, the tax authority came and knocked on the door and I didn’t know bookkeeping then, thank God I can today. But every now and then the person responsible for doing the bookkeeping had misposted salaries and cash registers and put them in one and the same account. It’s a big time no no, you’re not allowed to do that, he says the program and continues:

– No matter how much I could show and convey that it was true to the crown in paid tax and employer contributions, they saw a tax crime and convicted us on all the points they had raised, which resulted in me receiving a gigantic back tax. So much so that I had to sell the restaurant. Eight years of hard work from the first restaurant to this day, so the only thing I had to take home from there was a debt of approximately 1.6 million.
