Rio Bravo is one of the best westerns and perhaps even one of the best films of all time. The National Film Registry honors films, which are considered particularly worthy of preservation and added the work to the list of 650 films in 2014 (via Los Angeles Times ). The French film magazine Cahiers du Cinéma also chose the best films of all time in 2012 Rio Bravo made it to 12th place.

In a 2007 interview at the Canne Film Festival, Quentin Tarantino stated that Rio Bravo was his favorite western (via YouTube). And not only that, he refers to him as one of the best hangout movies at all. One of the things that makes this “subgenre” thrive is its characters who are so good that you just want to hang out with them, and with Rio Bravo you can do for almost two and a half hours.
