Tappara published a video on his account in which Tappara and TPS players face each other with fists. The subtitle was “80’s Night”.

The commentators criticized Tapparaa for the fact that the club markets its event on social media idealizing violence.
For example, critics wondered what is worth sharing in a fistfight and brought up what kind of message the action gives to child viewers.
“Does not match the club’s values”
Tappara regrets the publication of the fight video. Tappara’s director of development and events Aki Hautamäki according to the post does not represent the club’s values and should not have been published.
– It was a single comment in connection with the match monitoring, and it was in no way appropriate. Tappara wants to apologize for that. We absolutely do not want to send such a message.
The league’s disciplinary delegation ordered Tappara for the fight To Luke Witkowski and TPS For Oliver Lauridsen two match suspensions. According to Hautamäki, the sentences were appropriate.

The entire organization of Tappara got together on Monday. The ethical guidelines of the SM League, which affect all teams, were reviewed at the meeting. Hautamäki says that this would have been done on Monday in any case, but emphasizes the importance of united action in order to avoid similar situations in the future.
– Everyone from both the team and the office has been together so that everyone knows how we work together, says Hautamäki.
