At least six people have been killed and around fifty people have been injured as a result of a tanker explosion in southwestern Libya.
The explosion occurred when a crowd gathered around the vehicle as it was on its way to a gas station to fill up. The powerful explosion set several cars on fire and caused panic to break out.
It is still unknown what caused the explosion.
For many of the injured people, the situation is critical, says the hospital in the city of Sebha.
Libya has Africa’s largest oil reserves, but corruption and theft for smuggling to neighboring countries means that the pumps are often empty.
