Finland’s best CS: GO team HAVU will change head coach after a poor start to the year. Since the line-up changes, the team has slipped far from the top of the world rankings.
Finland’s CS: GO game’s long-standing number one team HAVU changes head coach.
Coached the team since October 2019 Taneli “Disturbed” Veikkola resigns as coach, the organization said Tuesday.
HAVU’s success over the past year has been modest. The team, which was still ranked 14th in the world ranking just over a year ago, is in the latest rankings (you switch to another service) swore to 89th place and also lost the title of Finland’s number one team after passing KOVA in 87th place.
The team’s performance has been weak since the team added to its ranks in January Intake “ottoNd” Sihvon and Jonah “Sm1llee” Holmström. HAVU was left on the beach from the qualifiers for the major tournament in Antwerp and has not won the tournament since the August 2021 eSM finals.
In the organisation’s press release, Veikkola says that he has been considering continuing as coach for some time after the team’s results fluctuated. Veikkola says that in recent months he has not been able to fix the problems that plagued the team’s play.
– The team needs a new start after a really challenging start to the year and I think also a new approach to the game, Veikkola states in the press release.
According to Veikkola, the change of coach will enable the team’s potential to be tested and a new rise towards the top of the world.
Veikkola, who previously played in HAVU and owns part of the organization, does not intend to rest on his laurels. In the organisation’s press release, Veikkola states that he still wants to continue working in e-sports, but the tasks for the future are still open.
Veikkola has also been seen before as an expert in E-sports in CS: GO tournaments.
