Tampa Bay Lightning defeated Colorado Avalanche 3–2 in the 5th NHL Final. With a away win, Tampa narrowed the series to 3-2 and took it to the sixth game. Mikko Rantanen played his first powerless final.
Tampa Bay Lightning did not give the Colorado Avalanches a cause for celebration in Denver in the 5th NHL Final. The reigning champion, who played back against the wall, took the final away from the field 3-2 and stretched to the sixth game of the series.
The winning goal for the away team shot Ondrej Palatwhose winning hit was the 11th goal of the playoffs.
Tampa Bay showed in the final that it wasn’t out of the series, even though the hosts had a place in the final series. Experienced and accustomed to championship games, Lightning played disciplinedly throughout the fifth fight, once again succeeding in rhythmizing his game the way he wanted.
As Tampa showed his maturity, the Colorado chase was finally ruined by his own carelessness. The home team grabbed too many players on the field just two minutes and 38 seconds before the end of the game. The two-minute took Avalanche’s last spark of hope to level off.
The Finns of Colorado missed out in the match. Mixed Mikko Rantanen that Artturi Lehkonen missed points in the fifth final. The match was Rantanen’s first powerless match in the series.
Tampa snatched the lead three times
The first set of the fifth final was gear-rich. Tampa Bay controlled the lot and puck in the beginning, Colorado took over the game after Tampa’s opening goal.
