But when it became clear that Argentina took home the title, it was apparently not an “Ibra” who jumped for joy.
Sunday’s World Cup final between Argentina and France will go down in history as one of the most dramatic and nerve-wracking finals ever. Supporters and players were torn between hope and despair before Argentina, via penalties, could secure their first World Cup title since 1986. A title that also became Lionel Messi’s first in his career.
Zlatan in place
On site in Qatar and at Lusail Stadium there were Zlatan Ibrahimovic together with his wife Helena Victory. “Ibra” has previously spoken out and said that “it is predetermined” that Argentina and Lionel Messi will win the World Cup. The Swede was right, but didn’t seem too happy about it.

Ibrahimovic and Messi played together in FC Barcelona during the 2009-2010 season, and when the Argentine won his first World Cup title, you might think that Zlatan would be happy with him. But instead it looked more like it was the other way around.

“Looks lost”
When Messi dropped to his knees to celebrate the title, Zlatan was seen in the stands, seemingly completely unfazed. Maybe because he was sitting next to the French star Paul Pogba as well as the French president Emmanuel Macron. Previously, the Swede had also been seen greeting the owner of the big team PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

The viewers were not slow to notice Zlatan’s “reaction”.
