2022 was a terrific year for several surprise horror hits. Smile in particular – do you see it too? became a big hit in cinemas. The new scary hit Talk to Me could repeat the phenomenon this year. The first trailer for the A24 shocker already looks very promising.

In Talk to Me, horror creatures become TikTok fodder

A bizarre party game has established itself in Mia’s (Sophie Wilde) circle of friends: a mummified hand courageous participants can contact the realm of the dead. But only for 90 seconds, otherwise you might not be able to get rid of the summoned ones. On the anniversary of her mother’s death, Mia gets involved in the game to clear her head. And soon she has to find out what horror catastrophe she has triggered with it.

As the trailer shows the criticism of Talk to Me is already enthusiastic. On the Rotten Tomatoes aggregator site, the critics’ score is an impressive 97%, which is primarily due to good acting performances and the mix of horror and Gen Z teen commentary.

When is Talk to Me in cinemas?

Talk to Me will be released on July 27, 2023 in German cinemas. Directed by Danny and Michael Philippou, who previously worked on the horror highlight The Babadook, among other things.
