As The Walking Dead nears its end, the next installment in the horror franchise is on the horizon. The new series Tales of the Walking Dead starts in August and is waiting for you promising concept on. This time, many little stories from the zombie apocalypse are told.

On the occasion of Comic-Con in San Diego, a first longer trailer for the new The Walking Dead series was released. Get ready for spooky adventures with lots of zombies and the return of a well-known villain: alpha (Samantha Morton).

Tales of the Walking Dead is already about the fourth series of the franchise. The flagship started with The Walking Dead in 2010, before the spin-offs Fear the Walking Dead and The Walking Dead: World Beyond were launched in 2015 and 2020. However, Tales of the Walking Dead has a special feature.

Unlike previous series, which each tell a big story, Tales of the Walking Dead is an anthology series. That means: Each of the six episodes of the first season tells a story self-contained story. The series was conceived by Scott M. Gimple and Channing Powell.

Tales of the Walking Dead

Both already have plenty of The Walking Dead experience to show. While Powell wrote and produced numerous episodes of The Walking Dead and Fear the Walking Dead, Gimple has now overseen the entire franchise and is orchestrating the build-out.

This expansion also includes two other spin-off seriesthat have already been announced. On the one hand a solo adventure awaits us, which revolves around Daryl, played by Norman Reedus. On the other hand, Lauren Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan meet in the New York detour Isle of the Dead.

When does Tales of the Walking Dead start?

Tales of the Walking Dead launches on August 14, 2022 in the US on AMC. It is not yet clear when and how the series will come to Germany. The last The Walking Dead series could be seen in this country on the streaming services Disney +, Amazon Prime and Wow (formerly Sky Ticket).
