Tadej Pogačar won both the final stage of the Tour de France and the overall competition.
Cycling’s tour of France ended on Sunday evening, as expected, for the Slovenian by Tadej Pogačari to victory.
Pogačar won the overall competition with a difference of 6 minutes and 17 seconds to the second-placed Dane to Jonas Vingegaard. Belgian Remco Evenepoel was third in the overall competition. He was 9 minutes and 18 seconds behind the winner.
In addition to the overall competition, Pogačar won the last stage of the competition. It was his sixth stage win of this year’s tour.
This year, the legendary cycling race exceptionally ended in Nice instead of Paris because of the Olympics. Cyclists pedal there from Monaco. The final stage was a 33-kilometer time trial.
The Slovenian dominated the race from the fourth stage. Before the final day, his lead in the overall race was 5 minutes and 14 seconds.
In May, Pogačar won the Tour of Italy, becoming the first male cyclist in 26 years to win both the Tour of France and Italy in the same year.
Pogačar has previously celebrated the victory of the Tour de France in 2020 and 2021.
