The WTT Series World Tour, which is the ping pong equivalent to tennis ATP and WTA-Tour, is divided into four levels.
Starting on Sunday, the first Grand SMAH tournament is played, which is the highest level, where the very best in the world meet.
– After the Olympics it has been ping pong fever in Sweden so it is great fun that more people should see how the tour and the professional part of the ping pong go, says Truls Möregårdh.
The premiere will be played for eight days in Singapore starting this weekend and with finals on February 9. SVT broadcasts all the way, focusing on the Swedish players.
Legendist Jan-Ove Waldner becomes an expert commentator.
-For the Swedish players, the big WTT tournaments are the biggest they have in the season. Anton Källberg arrived in the final last season. These are very important competitions for those with ranking points at stake for the big competitions such as the World Cup, says Jan-Ove Waldner.
At present, the following Swedes participate in Singapore: Truls Möregårdh, Anton Källberg, Kristian Karlsson, Mattias Falck, Linda Bergström and Stina Källberg.
The investment also means that there will be lots of highlight clips on both SVT Play and in SVT Sports app.
