SVT Sport reaches Källberg after he took the car home to Düsseldorf two hours from Frankfurt where the WTT Champions tournament was played.
How is the feeling after the final?
– It’s a little better than right after the final, but it’s clear that I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t go all the way. It’s a boring day but a fun week, says Källberg to SVT Sport.
27-ranked Källberg perhaps had too much respect for world number two Lin Shidong, who won five major tournaments in the autumn, the world’s by far the most in-form player, during the first three sets – lost 4-1.

– It gives me confidence and shows me that I can go all the way to the final in a competition where the very best are involved. I hope to show that this is not a one-time thing, but that I can repeat it more times in the future, says Källberg.
Hope to accompany Möregårdh to Japan
Now Källberg hopes to make it to the WTT finals in Fukuoka, Japan, November 20-24, where the world’s 16 best players can participate. Eleven-ranked Truls Möregårdh has already qualified. It is not clear how high Källberg will rise in the rankings after his final in Frankfurt and there is uncertainty.
– I can come there if one or two don’t play. Ma Long and Fan Zhendong have not played many competitions and if they are not there, I think I will come, says Källberg.
The next major competition after the WTT Finals is the Mixed World Cup national team competition in Chengdu, China, in December, which is being played for the second time.
