Before the Christmas and New Year holidays, there are many people who want to swing by the system company to shop, beer, wine and maybe mulled wine.
News24 reported last year about large queues at several systembolaget stores around the country before the New Year.
– From the time we stood in line, it took about 30 minutes, but even trying to go through the store to find what you wanted was basically impossible. People were seen dropping out of the queue, giving up and simply leaving the store. You simply had to take the first best thing you had close to you, said the visitor Annie Moreau to Nyheter24 then.

So much alcohol is consumed during Christmas
It easily happens that there is a little too much of the good stuff during the holiday season, which the system company works actively to counteract.
This can also be seen in the system company’s statistics, which show that their sales increase by approximately 22 percent during the month of December.
– Selling with responsibility and good service is something we work on all year round. We’re always picky about our age checks, never have extras, no offers and we don’t encourage you to buy more than you intended, says Teodor Almqvistpress officer at the system company, to Nyheter24.
However, it is not only alcoholic beverages that increase in sales around Christmas, but also non-alcoholic alternatives.

Systembolaget’s call: “If you have the opportunity…”
Teodor Almqvist says that they see an increase in customer visits before Christmas as well as other holidays, which means that there can be many customers in the store at the same time.
Do you have any recommendations for when customers can shop when it is quieter in the stores?
– If you have the opportunity, it can be good to plan your purchases and not be out at the last moment as there are often many people in the shops, he says.
