The Syrian army continues to attack the villages in Idlib city center and Jabal Zawiya Mountain with land-to-surface weapons. According to information received from hospital sources, 1 civilian died and 9 civilians were injured in the attacks on the neighborhoods in the center of Idlib.
The injured were referred to surrounding hospitals.
The number of people killed in the attacks carried out by the Syrian regime in the city center of Idlib since the morning has increased to 4 and the number of injured has increased to 11.
SITUATION IN IDLIB
At the Astana meeting in 2017, Turkey, Russia and Iran decided to create 4 “de-escalation zones” in the area not under the control of the Syrian administration.
The Damascus administration, Iranian-backed terrorists and Russia continued their attacks, capturing 3 out of 4 regions and heading towards Idlib.
Although Turkey reached an additional agreement with Russia to strengthen the ceasefire in September 2018, the attacks intensified again in May 2019.
Following the new agreement reached by Turkey and Russia on March 5, 2020, the ceasefire is largely preserved.
Approximately 2 million civilians who escaped from attacks in 2017-2020 were forced to migrate to regions close to the Turkish border.
