In northern Syria, fighting continues between the Kurdish armed forces and pro-Turkish factions of the Syrian National Army. The objective for the latter is to recover the entire Kurdish pocket, controlled by the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). At the start of the week, Ankara, which accuses the Syrian Democratic Forces of having links with armed Kurdish separatists on its soil, threatened to launch a military operation. In the surrounding villages, civilians begin to flee.
