Sylvester Stallone reveals which work he is most proud of

Sylvester Stallone (Rocky) doesn’t mince his words when it comes to talking about the worst film of his career. Nor does he hold back when it comes to highlighting action-packed highlights from his long career. However, his favorite may be an unusual choice for many.

“Really proud”: Sylvester Stallone puts a Rambo film above all others

Whether it’s The Expendables, Judge Dredd or Cliffhanger: Action films have always been part of Sylvester Stallone’s acting DNA. However, hardly any other fighting character has become as ingrained in the cultural memory as his veteran Rambo, who spawned four more sequels after 1982. Stallone revealed one of these to the Hollywood Reporter as his favorite action film in his long filmography:

Warner Bros.

Sylvester Stallone as John Rambo in Part 4

A film I am really proud of is Rambo4. It is the best action film I’ve ever made because it’s the most truthfulIt takes place in Burma, where they had a civil war for 67 years.

Rambo 4, which is originally called simply Rambo and in Germany is called John Rambo was released in 2008, 30 years after its predecessor, Rambo III. The action film was not without criticism at the time, but Sylvester Stallone sticks to his opinion:

I would sharply criticized because the film is so violent. And it’s violent. It’s horrible. Children are burned alive. That’s what makes civil wars worse than anything else: it’s your neighbor who suddenly kills you. I was very happy with this film and never thought it would make it to the theaters. I thought, ‘They’ll never show that.’

You can currently stream Rambo 4 aka John Rambo on Amazon Prime * with a subscription, where the other four parts are also available to stream. In the present, Sylvester Stallone will return as an actor this year as Mafioso Dwight Manfredi for season 2 of his series Tulsa King, which is also full of action.
