As can be seen on Box Office Mojo, the action hit has been in cinemas worldwide after two weekends grossed just $24.5 million. That’s far too little for a budget of 100 million. And things continue to go downhill rapidly: in the North American cinema market alone, second weekend revenues fell by almost 69%.

This is where the financial result lies significantly below the income of its predecessors, as Variety calculates. It seems questionable whether the film can recoup its high production and advertising costs. As well as a sequel that many hardcore fans were hoping for.

Is The Expendables 5 coming?

A fifth part of the series seems to be coming, especially in the near future. extremely unlikely. Even very optimistic forecasts for the home cinema market will hardly be able to fill the deep hole in cinema exploitation. Maybe it’s time to bury the action series.
