Sylvain Prudhomme, and the child emerges from the mist

Sylvain Prudhomme and the child emerges from the mist

Sylvain Prudhomme delivers a sensitive novel which leads a forty-year-old writer to bring back memories in a quest for intimate truth. A novel which attempts to find “M”, an initial which marks a barely whispered family secret. A child born during the war, to a German woman and a French soldier.

It is a story of silence, of secrecy, of memory and of regrets too, as the poet would sing. A couple’s story, and a child’s story, a story of love and separation. A family story also spanning several generations. An intimate story which tells the things of life at the height of the characters, with infinite delicacy, great sweetness, a zest of poetry. The mist of a lake on which swans move, scraps of feelings written in pastel, introspective monologues, a few dreams too… Let’s enter together into Sylvain Prudhomme’s new novel.

The child in the taxi » was published by Editions de Minuit. Sylvain Prudhomme is the guest of VMDN.

Rebroadcast of the show from Wednesday November 1st.
