The English start-up Swytch has developed a pocket battery for electric bike, which is easily connected and removed for each use on the handlebars. She is part of a new conversion kit revolutionary.
The new Swytch kit makes it possible to transform any bike into an electric model, in a few seconds and without the slightest technical knowledge. But this kit is distinguished above all by its removable battery, the most compact and light on the market, which you can easily store in a pocket or a backpack. back getting off the bike.
This revolutionary battery weighs only 700 grams. Such lightness obviously does not guarantee great autonomy, estimated here at about fifteen kilometers. This is nevertheless most of the time sufficient to go to work or to a friend’s, where it will be possible to recharge the battery before returning home.
The kit is compatible with any bike. Besides the battery, it also includes a front wheel with a 250 W motor and a sensor to be installed on the crankset so that the motor starts and stops automatically depending on whether the cyclist makes an effort or not.
To convert your bike, so you need to replace your front wheel with the new one, then install the sensor on the crankset and the battery mounting bracket, at the front of the handlebar. From then on, the battery can be clipped to the front of any bike equipped with this kit. When your ride is over, all you have to do is detach the battery and store it in your pocket or bag. The set should be available by this summer, at an as yet unknown price.
