The Lions, who struggled with power, were not able to break the trophy when Switzerland beat Finland 1-0 in the EHT tournament in Fribourg.

Switzerland’s decisive goal was seen in the opening set, when Christoph Bertschy finished the drive through with the decisive hit by Fabian Heldner vertical input.

Finnish goalkeeper Emil Larmi stopped 30 shots and gave the team a chance to fight for the win.

Lodovic Waeber needed 24 puck stops for his clean sheet.

In the Swiss tournament, the Lions’ team did not have any players from the SM league.

The head coach Antti Pennanen stated to STT that he saw new players in the EHT tournament, of which “some could do better, some fell short”.

– We didn’t have enough to score today, not even with superiority, Pennanen estimated.

Ranked second in the tournament, Leijonat beat Sweden 3–0 and lost the opening game 1–3 to the Czech Republic, which won all of its tournament games.
