The war between Israel and Hamas has been going on for several months and during the World Swimming Championships medalist Anastasia Gorbenko heard strong reactions from the audience connected to the ongoing conflict.
In the interview that was done in front of the entire arena in Doha, Qatar, immediately after the race, the Israeli was booed.
– I am doing this for Israel and I am proud of it. If someone doesn’t like it, it’s not my problem, she said in the mixed zone afterwards, according to TT.
According to the news agency, Gorbenko had a security guard by his side.
