Van Rouwendaal is counting on this to work. She has recently been training about forty hours a week in Magdeburg, Germany. “My form has to be good enough. I am a little less rested than normal, but I think I can afford that. I feel stronger than before Fukuoka,” says Van Rouwendaal about her form last year at the World Cup in Japan, where she finished fourth in the 10 kilometers and narrowly missed the first chance for an Olympic ticket.
