Swedish woman arrested in Spain

Spanish police have arrested a woman who is said to be one of the most sought -after people in Europe, reports Spanish media.

The arrest took place on February 20 in the municipality of Tías, at Lanzarote. The police were able to locate the woman on February 7, after receiving information from the Unit for Wanted Persons, writes El Confidencial.

According to several Spanish media, this is a Swedish woman in her 30s who is suspected of serious drug crimes and money laundering.

Been wanted by Europol

The woman has been wanted by Europol, and was included in their list of Europe’s most sought -after people.

She has been fleeing since March 2021, when she was suspended in connection with the strike against the World Exchange exchange office in Stockholm, something that TV4 News previously reported on.

According to Europol, the woman should have links to a criminal network in Sweden, where her role was to deliver and transport large amounts of drugs and money.

Detained in anticipation of extradition

Spanish police are said to have released a video showing the arrest against the woman.

An on -duty court in Arrecife has decided to arrest the woman pending her to be extradited to Sweden, writes several Spanish media.

She is said to risk up to 14 years in prison if she is sentenced.
