347 Swedes are stuck in Majorca after a plane crash.

Now they testify about the chaos at the airport.

– My 83-year-old mother had to sleep on a hard stone floor, says Patrik.

Long queues, delays and lost bags have characterized summer travel.

And it looks set to continue for a while longer.

58-year-old Kenneth, with his family, is stranded on Mallorca together with over 300 other Swedes after the flight was delayed.

– It has been quite annoying. People are scattered everywhere and families with children have to sleep on the floor, says Kenneth, who has been at the airport since 20.30 last night.

“Maybe a little poor”

Ving’s offer of hotel accommodation was not enough for everyone due to full bookings – and the compensation of 250 euros is not enough to find a hotel of your own, according to Kenneth.

– It is not possible to find any hotel under SEK 6,000 here, so it was perhaps a bit poor, he says.

Patrik, 50, is one of those who did not receive the offer to sleep at a nearby hotel.

– I slept with my daughters and my 83-year-old mother on a hard stone floor. But we weren’t the only ones. There was even someone in a wheelchair who had to spend the night here, he says and continues.

– I’m a little curious about how they make the selection. It is terribly disrespectful of Ving not to do the least to make the wait a little easier, he says.

They have not yet been told when they will be allowed to come home.

– They cannot say whether we can fly home today or tomorrow. Nothing. Of course I’m angry. We have paid 75,000 to go for two weeks, and it is an inland problem, but it is not free and then you get dumped here.

Ving: “Is regrettable”

According to Ving’s communicator Charlotte Hallencreutz, a missing spare part for the broken plane must be behind the mess.

– We are looking for a new flight, but it is high season so it takes some time to find replacement flights. Then my colleagues on site in Mallorca tried to find hotel rooms, but it is currently very fully booked, she says and continues:

– We are working hard to find a solution and want to get the guests home as quickly as possible. It is regrettable that they had to spend the night at the airport.
