It concerns a municipality located on Gran Canaria called Mogán, according to Canarias Ahora who was the first to report this.

The tourist tax is the first of its kind, and will be introduced in several popular destinations in the Canary Islands, something that also The Express has written about.

All resorts will be covered by the tourist tax:

  • Arguineguín-Patalavaca
  • Anfi del Mar
  • Puerto Rico-Amadores
  • Tauro-Playa del Cura
  • Taurito and Puerto de Mogán
  • Tourists who visit Mogán from next year will pay a fee in tax of 0.15 euros, which is equivalent to 1.73 kroner, per day. The exact price may vary from year to year, according to the magazine.

    Then the tax on the plane ticket is abolished

    However, traveling can be cheaper.

    On July 1, 2025, the tax on airline tickets will be abolished completely, according to the government’s budget. The biggest difference will be noticed on the plane tickets for trips abroad, according to Stefan Westerbergprivate economist at Länsförsäkringar.

    According to him, plane tickets for trips within Sweden can be SEK 82 cheaper, and a trip abroad to, for example, the USA can be SEK 325 cheaper.
