Anette’s new sport
Anette Norberg recently took over as sports manager for the men’s team in Härnösands Handball Association and it has gone fantastically well. The newly started handball team is so far undefeated in division 2.
– We are undefeated in division 2 for the men’s team, I am also responsible for some youth teams as well. We went down last year and we’re going to get back up. I am the link between the board and the coach, so I try to support the coach as much as possible. So that he can talk to someone and play with. They think it’s funny that I’m there, she tells Sportbibeln.

The new handball club came about through a merger of the associations Brännan and Härnösands HK. They needed a sports manager and contacted Norberg, who lives in Härnösand and actually plays raven handball.
– I had no background at all, but I played handball in the raven. There I played with a girl in the team who is involved in Härnösand. They merged two associations and a completely new organization was to be set, the ones they had no sports director. She said: “Try asking Anette”. I agreed to meet with them and I liked that it was so well thought out with different roles and division of responsibilities. So I said yes, says Anette.
The 58-year-old is now having great success in the autumn of his age in a completely different sport than curling. And she really enjoys her new sports venture.
– I like that there are high ambitions and a fresh start. I thought it was a fun thing to do, it’s the most fun team sport out there and the most fun ball sport. I have played football before and I am generally interested in sports, but have mostly watched handball on TV and watched a lot of national team matches, she says in the interview.
