He has become a father for the first time and has given his son a unique name.
Swedish NHL star William Karlsson has been widely praised during the Stanley Cup playoffs for his many fine efforts for the Vegas Golden Knights. He is the team’s leading scorer and right now the conference finals are underway against the Dallas Stars for a spot in the coveted Stanley Cup finals.
Karlsson’s success
It could be the young club’s second final in just five years. The Swede obviously hopes to be able to give back to the passionate fans in Las Vegas.
– Yes I hope so. Of course it would be big. That’s what you play 82 games in the regular season to be part of. That chance to compete for the championship title. It was a fantastic atmosphere against Washington in 2018 and will probably be at least as good a move now if it happens that we get there, says Karlsson in an interview with SportExpressen.

But it’s not just on the ice that William Karlsson has had fun lately. Just over a week ago, the NHL Swede became a father for the first time in his life when he and his wife Emily became parents to a little boy.
– I am a very proud father and the most important thing is that we are all doing well. I got to help bring the wife and son home from the hospital before we flew to Edmonton for the last game against the Oilers, Karlsson tells the evening newspaper.
– But right now there is not much you can do, the son is sleeping and eating. But of course it’s amazing to see him when his eyes are fixed on me.

Son’s name
The boy has also been given a name that is highly unusual and does not come from the world of hockey. But from a certain soccer player who has left a big impression on the Swedish hockey star in Vegas.

He was born on May 12 Beckham William Karlsson. The middle name from father William and the first name from himself David Beckham.
– He is a role model. Then I think the name is cool, so why not?, admits William Karlsson in the interview and is then asked if Manchester United is his favorite team.
– Well, it’s more David Beckham I’ve done over the years. I’m probably more into Aston Villa if we’re talking about the Premier League. I want things to go well for them.

So far, it has been 10 points in 13 games in the Stanley Cup playoffs and a total of 53 points in 82 games in the regular season for William Karlsson this season.
