“It has been an incident linked to the consumption of alcohol,” says the Swedish Armed Forces, according to the newspaper.
About 550 Swedish soldiers from the southern Skåne regiment, P7, are on site in Latvia to participate in NATO’s multinational brigade. But during a leave this weekend, a number of Swedish soldiers broke against the Armed Forces’ rules.
“They have thus violated the Code of Conduct. Want to be clear that no laws have been broken,” writes communications manager Marcus Nilsson to Aftonbladet.
The incident has been investigated by officers with the support of, among other things, military police. The union has learned lessons and leave is now given more restrictively, according to the defense.
