A Swedish man in his 60s has been sentenced to five years in prison in Iran accused of conspiring and planning a crime, the man’s defense lawyer told Sweden’s Radio Ekot.
According to Ekot, the man has dual citizenship and is ill with cancer. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (DF) announced in January that the man was arrested “for no apparent reason” at the end of December.
TT has asked the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for confirmation, but has not yet received a response.
