    A Swedish man has reported the self-proclaimed shaman Durek Verrett to the police for sexual abuse and assault, reports Se og Hør.

    According to the newspaper, the suspected crimes must have been committed during a session with the shaman.

    Durek Verrett, who is married to Norwegian princess Märtha Louise, denies the allegations.

    On Friday, Durek Verrett’s lawyer announced that the shaman reported Se og Hør to the police.

    – I believe that it is a criminal offense to make such serious claims about a person, the lawyer told the newspaper.

    The police notified the Norwegian court that they planned to arrest Marius Borg Høiby.

    The court then contacted the Norwegian crown prince couple and told them about the police’s plans, reports say VG.

    “The royal court then informed the crown prince couple about an incident with Marius Borg Høiby and about a possible arrest,” writes Guri Ofstad Varpe, head of communications for the Norwegian court, in a statement.

    At 15.58 the police received an alert that a collision had occurred between a pedestrian and a bus in Malmö.

    – We have sent police and an ambulance to the scene. We are talking to the people involved, says police spokesperson Filip Annas.

    A woman has been taken to hospital by ambulance.

    The extent of the damage is unclear.

    The police have been alerted to a shooting in the Sätra center in southern Stockholm, according to information to Aftonbladet.

    Several people in the area have heard loud bangs.

    Someone has fired several shots at a local and two people have been hit, according to information.

  • National survey after removed uteri

    The government is now setting up a national survey to investigate whether women throughout the country have had their uteruses removed incorrectly, reports SVT Uppsala.

    – It is necessary that we carry out this review, says Health Care Minister Acko Ankarberg Johansson (KD).

    The mapping is added after the University Hospital in Uppsala announced that 33 women had their uteruses removed unnecessarily.

    A concrete roof collapsed above the entrance to a railway station in the Serbian city of Novi Sad on Friday, according to the country’s Interior Minister Ivica Dacic.

    At least eight people are dead and at least four have been taken to hospital with serious injuries, reports say AP.

    Two people are still stuck under the rubble.

  • Teenager is suspected of aggravated rape against a child

    A teenager of high school age has been detained on probable cause on suspicion of aggravated rape against a child in Uddevalla, reports Bohusläningen.

    The rape took place in September and the teenager was arrested earlier this week.

    – There is very strong pre-investigation confidentiality and I cannot comment on anything at all at this stage. We will investigate all the circumstances now, says Johannes Dävelid, prosecutor in the case.

    The teenager is also suspected of weapons offenses as he allegedly had some kind of weapon on him this summer.

    The teenager denies the crimes.

    The self-proclaimed shaman Durek Verrett, newly married to Norway’s Princess Märtha Louise, reports the Norwegian weekly Se & Hør to the police.

    According to the newspaper itself, the report comes after they published an article earlier this week with serious accusations against Verrett. In the article, a Swedish man accuses Verrett of sexual abuse during the “shaman’s” sessions.

    – I asked him to stop but he didn’t give in, says the man in question in the article.

    Verrett’s spokesperson has previously denied the allegations of sexual abuse. Now they are also taking the newspaper to court.

  • Man arrested for murder in Skåne released

    A man who was arrested on suspicion of murder after a death in Hässleholm has been released, Norra Skåne reports.

    The prosecutor does not want to say whether this means that there are no longer any suspicions against the man, who is 65 years old. He was arrested on Wednesday after a 75-year-old woman was found dead in a home after a medical alarm.

    The prosecutor has previously expressed that it is not certain that a crime is behind the death. A preliminary medical report on the cause of death is expected next week.

  • Significantly fewer new jobs than expected in the US

    U.S. employment increased by 12,000 jobs, outside of the agriculture sector, in October, according to new figures from the Labor Department.

    Unemployment was unchanged at 4.1 percent.

    Economists on average had expected 100,000 new jobs and an unemployment rate of 4.1 percent, according to Bloomberg’s compilation.

    At the same time, the September figure is revised down to 223,000 new jobs.

  • Over 200 dead in Spain

    The death toll continues to rise in south-eastern Spain after the heavy floods. Now 202 deaths have been confirmed, reports El Mundo.

    Previously, 1,200 military personnel participated in the search for missing persons, and now another 500 soldiers are being added.

    It is the biggest flood disaster recorded in Spain since 1973, when 300 people died.

  • Stop for Mälartåg – vacated

    On Friday morning, the police went to an address on Lidingö due to a game accident.

    – A game warden must have shot a deer and then something happened to the bullet that entered a residence where there were people, says police spokesperson Carina Skagerlind.

    No one should have been injured. The police will investigate what happened to the bullet, but at the moment no crime is suspected.

    – As far as I can see, it is an accident, says Carina Skagerlind.

    Later on Saturday, the police state that the incident is being investigated as causing danger to others.

  • Many dead in Gaza – new wave of attacks against survivors

    Nearly 50 people have been killed in Israeli attacks in the central Gaza Strip overnight, reports the Palestinian news agency Wafa.

    The attacks are said to have been directed at Dayr al-Balah, Zawaida and Nuseirat.

    The majority of the victims are said to have been killed when several buildings in Nuseirat were bombed. Wafa reports a second wave of attacks as people rushed to the scene to rescue those who survived the first attacks. According to the information, the majority of those killed are women and children.

    Health sources confirm according to Al Jazeera that 47 bodies were taken to al-Aqsa hospital in Dayr al-Balah, among them a five-month-old baby. In pictures taken by the AFP news agency, relatives say goodbye to the little one, still wearing his pajamas, and his mother.

    – We are ready to die. I didn’t die today, but I will definitely be killed tomorrow. No place is safe in the Gaza Strip, witness Abu Mohammed al-Taweel told Al Jazeera.

    According to Israel’s statement, “several armed terrorists” were identified and killed in the central Gaza Strip, Haaretz newspaper reports.

  • Listeria in hospital food – fish dishes recalled

    Listeria bacteria have been discovered in food that was prepared in the hospital kitchen in Nyköping and that was also distributed to Eskilstuna and Katrineholm. It writes Sörmland News.

    In connection with a routine check on Thursday, listeria bacteria were discovered in a fish stew, says Jimmy Frischenfeldt Bååth, responsible for hospital food in Region Sörmland.

    The current fish dish and another fish dish have now been withdrawn.

    Right now, the region is mapping how many portions have had time to be consumed before the dishes were withdrawn.

    It cannot be ruled out that someone or a few people have been affected by the listeria bacteria.
