Swedish man dies in avalanche accident in Norway

A Swedish man in his 30s died in an avalanche accident on Friday in the ski resort of Rauma on Norway’s west coast, Norwegian police told TT.

Another injured Swedish man is being treated for his injuries. A third Swedish man was in the group, but he is said not to have been seriously injured.

The alarm about the accident came shortly after 1 p.m. The Swedes were out skiing when the avalanche started.

The rescue operation with i.a. helicopter was difficult because there have been strong winds in the area during the day.
