Swedish giants at the World Cup – 19-year-old Filip Gravenfors takes a surprising podium: “It’s absolutely sick”

Filip Gravenfors finished fourth in the final single hump World Cup event in Almaty and secured third place overall in the singles cup.

Philip Gravenfors poked down Walter Wallberg from third place when the latter had to end the season due to knee problems.

19-year-old Gravenfors took five podiums during the season and enjoyed the success and third place overall.
“It’s completely disturbing, I don’t really understand. Last year I had a sick season with two podium places and now we’re up to five and I’m third in the world, it’s completely sick, I can’t really grasp it,” he says according to a press release.

The Canadian Michael Kingsbury won the competition in Kazakhstan, but had to settle for second place in the singles cup behind the Japanese Ikuma Horishima.

On the women’s side won Jakara AnthonyAustralia, the last heat and she had already secured victory in the singles cup.
