Lower global prices for wheat and energy have not yet affected Swedish food prices.
They also shine more than neighboring countries in recent months.
Food prices rose by over 17 percent compared to October last year. It surprised the Norwegian Economic Institute on the upside. The authority had expected 13.5 percent.
The fact that food prices, and especially the price of fruit and vegetables, increase so much can to some extent be connected to the exchange rate and the weak krona.
– Prices will not continue to rise forever, but for a certain time they seem to do so according to the information we receive, says Martin Bäckström, head of unit at the Swedish Competition Authority.
