Four Finnish players celebrate the Swedish women’s floorball championship. Oona and Veera Kauppi, My Kippilä and Tuulia Aho were able to celebrate the championship in a Thorengruppen shirt, with their team knocking out Pixbon by 5-4 goals.
Finnish colors were also seen in Pixbo ‘s ranks when Laura Manninen and Mia Karjalainen received silver medals around their necks. Karjalainen, 34, who has played more than a hundred national games, has announced that he will end his major career in the finals.
The Swedish Super Final was played at the Globen Hall in Stockholm, where a total of 9,859 pairs of eyes witnessed the Umeå Society Championship. The crowd is convincing, as the women’s Swedish final returned to the audience after a two-year hiatus.
For the Thorengruppen, the Swedish championship is second to the tube. The Västerbotten floorball club also crashed the Pixbon in the women’s final last season.
The Finns also made it to the results columns in the final. In the opening round, Oona Kauppi hit Thorengruppen for the second goal of the match, while Manninen served the Pixbon narrow-down hit after five minutes. Pixbon Karjalainen also gave one goal pass in the third round of the match.
Thurengruppen, who took the championship, dominated the match and scoring until the start of the second round. The Umeå struck 4–1 on the scoreboard until Pixbon Emma Stenberg delivered the ball to the goal and it bounced from the feet of Thorengruppen’s defense to the goal. Pixbon kiri brought the team to the finish line one minute before the end of the fight, but it didn’t carry until a tie.
The best player of the match was two goals in the final for Thorengruppen Maja Viström, who was chosen as the best of the match in the finals of the World Cup in December. He received a fire support goal and two passes from the powerhouse From Emelie Wibronwho scored a decisive extra time goal for the Finnish network in the World Cup final.
Later today, the men’s final between Falun and Kalmarsund will be played at Globen, but no Finns will be involved in that match.
