Ellinor Südow made her debut on the LPGA tour this spring. When the tour now visits Northern Ireland, the 25-year-old shares the lead after the first round. The other top players are Swiss Kim Metraux, Karis Davidson from Australia and English Gabriella Cowley.
The tournament is played on the Castlerock and Galgorm links courses.
Playing on links courses in particular – that is, a course that is located between the beach and ordinary pasture – is something the Swede says he enjoys.
“I love links golf. I think it’s so much fun, it’s the second time I’ve done it. It’s so much fun with the wind and everything. It’s beautiful and you can take advantage of good shots with the drive and putting is great,” says Ellinor Südow to the LPGA Tour website.
The Swedes Dani Holmqvist and Moa Folke, who are tied for fifth and tied for ninth respectively, have also started the competition well.
