Bredäng’s campsite in Stockholm is almost fully booked for the entire season. One of the visitors is Ida Zwohlen, from Switzerland, who is in Sweden for the second time.
– I want to go canoeing, I’ve heard it will be great fun because you have such beautiful nature. And there are so few people here, we like that. In Switzerland it is so small and crowded and so much traffic.
Maintains high standards
Swedish camping has had steady growth for a few years. With the exception of a temporary dip during the pandemic, visitor numbers are ticking steadily upwards. And the reasons for camping’s growing popularity are several.
– Swedish camping maintains a high standard. There is a lot of investment being made in the campsites and the facilities are of good quality, says Peter Jansson, acting CEO of the industry organization SCR Swedish Camping.
