Swedish aid worker injured in Ukraine

A Swedish aid worker in Ukraine has been seriously injured in a Russian car attack, reports Spanish El Mundo.
– A projectile landed on a vehicle, says Spain’s Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares.

The aid worker was reportedly injured when the vehicle he was traveling in was attacked. According to information to El Mundo, the vehicle must have overturned and then caught fire.

According to the volunteer organization Road to Relief, for which they worked, the attack must have taken place in nearby Bachmut.

The man has been taken to hospital with shrapnel and burn injuries. The condition should be serious but stable, according to the organization.

A Spanish and a Canadian colleague are said to have been killed in the same attack. A German aid worker in the same vehicle was also injured.

– She worked for a voluntary organization that provides humanitarian aid in Ukraine and we have received verbal confirmation of her death, Spain’s Foreign Minister José Manuel Albares told reporters according to the AFP news agency.
