Novus survey: More people than before think that society is developing in the right direction
More people think that the development in Sweden is going in the right direction.
In the analysis company Novus’ latest survey, it is possible to see a slight increase since the last measurement that was made three months ago.
– I can’t feel that I think it feels worse, you have quite a lot of opportunities to take part in social debates and the like, says Vellinge resident Elsbeth Philipsson.
The percentage of people who believe that the development in Sweden is going in the right direction has increased by five percentage points since the last Novus survey in October last year, from 27 percent to 32 percent.
Despite the increase, there is still a clear majority, 57 percent, who believe that the development is not going in the right direction.
“Those in power do not take responsibility”
Sven Norlinder from Östra Grevie is one of them:
– Those in power do not take responsibility as they should and there are too many who do not do what they are supposed to do, he says.
Anette Leveau from Vellinge is also pessimistic:
– I don’t think anything is at the top anywhere. At the moment there is an imbalance.
Men most positive
The voters of the government parties and the Sweden Democrats are most positive about the development of society, and the voters of the opposition parties are the most negative. More men than women think the development is good.
– I guess it’s this thing with interest rates going down and so on, it’s at least a glimmer of light in the dark, says Ronald Vinter from Trelleborg.
Torbjörn Sjöström, CEO of Novus, believes that the fact that the measurement was done in January may have influenced the result.
– New year means a fresh start for many. That can matter, he says.
