Secretary General of the Swedish Football Association Håkan Sjöstrand tells the association’s website:
“It’s good that Uefa came to a decision and that it turned out the way we wanted, but everything sporting comes second. We would like to thank all the support that representatives of Uefa, the Belgian confederation and Belgian authorities and, not least, the Belgian supporters have shown us after the tragic events of Monday”.

Two Swedish citizens were shot dead before the match in a terrorist attack. Therefore, the match was called off after the first half. Both teams agreed not to play any further.
